An early morning car fire closed part of West 10th Street in Sioux Falls Wednesday.
The fire started just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and Kiwanis Avenue. The driver noticed smoke coming from under her seat. She doesn't smoke, so fire inspectors believe it was an electrical fire.
Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of 10th Street were closed. The eastbound lanes reopened shortly after firefighters extinguished the blaze, and the westbound lanes remained closed for about an hour while fire rescue investigated.
The car was totalled in the fire. The driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time and she was not injured.
