Brown Returns to SD with Wolves Camp

Bookmark and Share

One of South Dakota's all-time greatest basketball players was back home Tuesday. Steve Brown is Director of the Wolves Basketball Academy and he's seen great growth during the time he's been with the team, especially this summer.

STEVE BROWN:"I've been doing these for 4 years now and I'll tell you what's really made a difference the last year. When Rubio came into town and all of a sudden we had some excitement and we're 21-19 and people start buying tickets and there's no doubt...our numbers this year as compared to the last 3 years have almost doubled. A lot has had to do with the success of the Timberwolves. We don't have a player here but hopefully in the future we will. It's huge...they get a Timberwolves ticket, t-shirt, basketball, wristbands and it's a local team. Now that we're on the front page again I think that really makes a big difference..."

Brownie also dazzled the campers by draining a 3-pointer for the KDLT camera...Just think of how many points he would have scored if that 3 point shot had existed when he led his high school team to a State "B" title!
