WI Woman Killed In Lawrence Co. Crash

A Wisconsin woman was killed and her husband suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash north of Nemo Wednesday.
Officials with the South Dakota Highway Patrol say Steven Rowin, a 61-year-old Madison resident, was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson Road King on Vanocker Canyon Road about two miles north of Nemo shortly after 5 p.m. His wife, 61-year-old Marcia Rowin, was a passenger on the motorcycle.
Steven Rowin lost control of the bike when two deer crossed into the roadway, and he skidded into the ditch. Both were taken to a Sturgis hospital and were then transferred to a Rapid City hospital, where Marcia Rowin died of her injuries.
Troopers say neither rider was wearing a helmet. The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
