WITH THE VIKINGS SET TO KICK OFF THEIR FIRST PRE-SEASON GAME IN SAN FRANCISCO ON FRIDAY, THERE ARE STILL A LOT OF QUESTIONS LEFT TO BE ANSWERED.
Chad Greenway says, "We have some good young guys in Marvin Mitchell, another good veteran who came in. They compete for a lot of playing time. We're a deeper group than people are going to give us credit for. We have a long ways to go. A lot of work to do."
BRINGING BACK MOST OF THE FAMILIAR EYES THAT YOU SEE BEHIND THE FACEMASK'S ON DEFENSE, BUT ALSO BRINGING IN A FEW NEW SETS AS WELL.
Kevin Williams says,"These guys are pretty close, I mean, It's not too many guys that we're adding to the mix that hadn't been around so we're all pretty much familiar with each other and know each other inside and out, so it's going to be a good thing. I think we're anxious to get going and just get to hitting somebody, you know, and then playing full speed."
Nick says, "Defensive coordinator Alan Williams says this this defense this season needs to be more like the state of Minnesota, as in hockey."
Alan Williams says,"This is Minnesota, we're going to have a hockey line up. So we need eight guys to come in and play for us and play well so we'll have guys that are rotating and we expect whatever that rotation is for guys to play winning football."
AND PLAYING WINNING FOOTBALL IS ONE OF THOSE STEPS TOWARDS A CHAMPIONSHIP.
Antoine Winfield says, "Our number one goal is to win a championship thats why we're all out here working hard towards. Each day to come out here and get better at something. The coaches are doing a good job of installing the defense, teaching us the techniques, but it's all about us getting on the field and working at it."
Kevin Williams says, "If you're not playing for the number one spot, you know, why are you playing? I think that's everybody, goes around the league too. We got to continue to strive and get better and that's the ultimate goal, be the best we can be and let everything else fall where it may."
