Animal Talk Continues On

Bookmark and Share

The talk continued on Friday to find out just how many pets, livestock and fowl residents can have in their homes within Sioux Falls city limits.

During a meeting at the main Sioux Falls library, the Urban Agriculture Task Force discussed different scales of measuring animals.

City Councilman Rex Rolfing said concerned people brought the issue to the board, and said their neighbors' animals were creating a nuisance.

"Nuisance wasn't defined well enough, so what we're trying to do is take that definition of nuisance away from neighbors, away from other people so that it's more narrowly defined by the law or the ordinance," said Rolfing.

Rolfing said he hopes the Urban Agriculture Task Force will have a finalized city ordinance within a couple months.
