Augustana Football Looks to Start Strong

Bookmark and Share

The Augustana football team opens up their season at home against Northern State on September 1st this season.

Last year, the vikings started 0-3 to start the season and had to play catch-up for the rest of the year ending up at a 6-5 mark and missing the playoffs. This pre-season they are focused on just that, and wide receiver Ben Parsley and the team have a unique analogy to get off on a good start.

"We've been talking about that in camp a lot and in practice you know, trying to get off on good starts in practices and just get that fire right out of the gate and you know we kind of tried to use the olympics as analogies sometimes where you know, most of those guys, when they start, that's where they win," said Parsley.

It will be a tough season opener as Northern State has improved. The Vikings beat them last season by only a field goal 27-24 up in Aberdeen.
