Tom Compton Released By Redskins

Former USD offensive lineman Tom Compton was one of 22 players the Washington Redskins released on Friday.

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have waived the following players:
Anthony Armstrong, Terrence Austin, Travon Bellamy, Dorson Boyce, Tom Compton, Erik Cook, Jonathan Crompton, Tristan Davis, Marlon Favorite, Grant Garner, Donnell Holt, Delvin Johnson, Brian McNally, Richard Quinn, Willie Smith, Brandyn Thompson, Markus White, and Doug Worthington.

In addition, the Redskins released the following veterans:
Tim Hightower, David Jones, Bryan Kehl, and Darrion Scott.

The team also announced that it has placed exempt DE Kentwan Balmer on the Reserve/Left Squad list.

NFL teams can build a practice squad of eight players beginning at noon ET Saturday.
