Bookmark and Share

The volleyball team over at Augustana kicked off their season this week in Hawaii.

The Augie squad defeated Hawaii-Hilo in straight sets.  The defense led the way with 9.5 blocks, holding the Vulcans to a .040 attack percentage on their way to the 25-17, 25-13, 25-20 victory. Holly Hafemeyer sparked the offense with a match-high 14 kills and no errors on her way to a .519 attack percentage.

"We have a good balance of people that are super energetic and people that know how to talk about what needs to get done and people that go and get it done and so that just helps out with everyone playing their own role," said Holly Hafemeyer.

Augustana dropped match two of the Vulcan Classic to Nebraska-Kearney, losing 25-21, 25-19, 26-24.
