State Inspectors Close Minnehaha Detox Center

New patients aren't being accepted into Minnehaha County's detoxification center after the state discovered safety problems at the facility.

The order, released Wednesday evening, found that the center scored a 55 percent, putting it on probation. The center got the order Tuesday from state officials who had inspected the facility over a two-day period last month. The facility can't accept new patients until the county submits a plan of correction.

The county commission's administrative officer Ken McFarland says the plan has already been submitted and hopes patients will again be accepted very soon.
