One Killed In Codington County Crash

Authorities say one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash near Watertown Friday morning.

Officials with the South Dakota Highway Patrol say a Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling on Highway 212 and crossed the center line, colliding with a semi-truck about 10 miles west of Watertown around 11:15 a.m.

The driver of the the Cavalier suffered fatal injuries while a 3-year-old passenger was not hurt. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Troopers say both drivers were wearing seat belts. Names are being withheld until family members can be notified.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
