	Man Finishes Swim from South Dakota To Missouri by KDLT News October 08, 2012 8:17 PM It took nearly two months and over 1,000 miles, but a British man has finished his swim from South Dakota to Missouri. Dave Cornthwaite began his lengthy swim on August 10th. He swam 1,000 miles on the Missouri River, accompanied by a team in canoes and paddleboards. For their final leg, the group headed south on the Mississippi. They arrived under St. Louis’ arch Sunday morning. Cornthwaite said he didn’t know how to swim when he got started two months ago, but he never felt like giving up. The adventure raised about $10,000 for breast cancer.
