Involuntary Manslaughter Cases Proceed In SD

One South Dakota man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and another has been sentenced on the same charge in separate cases.
 
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 22-year-old Avery Hawk Wing, of Wounded Knee, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison for a November 2011 incident in which the car he was driving recklessly rolled and killed a passenger. Hawk Wing pleaded guilty in January.
 
Forty-eight-year-old Mark Clairmont, of Norris, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in a February crash in which authorities say he was driving drunk. That rollover also killed a passenger. Clairmont faces up to eight years in prison when he is sentenced next Jan. 2.
