The man accused of texting, speeding and causing a fatal 5-car pile up this summer in Sioux Falls was back in the courtroom Thursday.
21-year-old Brent O'Neal, who is out on bond, arrived at the courthouse Thursday morning with his lawyers for a pre-trial hearing.
He's charged with first and second-degree manslaughter along with felony hit and run and reckless driving. Both his attorneys and prosecutors told the judge they needed more time to work on the case before a trial could begin.
Police say O'Neal caused the July crash that killed 33-year-old Philip Sorensen at 26th and Minnesota.
His next court appearance is scheduled for November 5th.
