Isaac Heard has a cannon!. An arm that can stretch opposing defences to the breaking point..
Isaac Heard-Edgerton/Ellsworth SR. says: "Of course I'm a fan of the deep pass plays but coach says i get a little greedy with those sometimes."
Andrew Fleischman, Edgerton-Ellworth FB coach says:"We tell him not to get too greedy you know we want to take what the defense gives us and he likes to throw it and show it off a little bit."
Here's Heard throwing one of those deep touchdown to help his team win the Minnesota 9 man state championship..
Even though the Edgerton-Ellsworth Flying Dutchmen won't repeat perfection like the 2011 season, Heard craves a state second title.
Isaac says:"Last year was pretty exciting we went through a new mountain that we've never climbed before and we're hoping to do that again."
While heard's arm can dismantle defenses.. his coach says his ability to out think them is vital as well.
Fleischman says:"He can tell any kid on the field what they need to do and sometimes when I get my formations and my numbers crossed up when I get a little bit excited he can correct me even too..."
The senior still has this season to worry about.. but the dreams to play at the next level despite playing for a nine man school are still alive and well.
Heard says: "No I don't like looking too far ahead because my main goal this year is to win another state championship I obviosly look to play in college and hope to play where ever the school gives me an opportunity..."
Fleischman says:"Great Work ethic and a lot of tools that will make him successful for the next level if that's what he chooses to do."
Isaac Heard.. leading the Dutchmen of Edgerton-Ellsworth and hoping to finish on top again..
