SD Man Pleads Not Guilty To Kidnapping Daughter

A South Dakota man accused of kidnapping his daughter and killing her dog in front of her has pleaded not guilty to felony charges including aggravated kidnapping.
 
Prosecutors have dropped an attempted murder charge against 35-year-old Clinton Brown, of Presho.
 
Authorities allege Brown was under the influence of methamphetamine when he held his 10-year-old daughter in a vehicle and a field for three hours on Aug. 17, choking her, pointing a gun at her, firing the gun near her, and hitting her with the butt of the gun. He also is accused of killing the girl's dog two days earlier, on her birthday, after she refused to follow his orders to kill the dog for barking.
 
Brown could face life in prison if convicted.
