SD National Guard Wins Workplace Safety Award

Bookmark and Share

The South Dakota Safety Council has given the South Dakota National Guard awards for excellence in workplace safety and health.

The Army and Air National Guard were among 59 employers who were recognized recently at the annual Governor's Safety Awards luncheon.

State Adjutant General Tim Reisch says the safety awards are important because his top priority is to take care of soldiers and airmen in the South Dakota National Guard.

The Governor's Safety Awards program recognizes employers with better than average safety records. Winners are recognized at three levels.

Reisch says the Army Guard won an entry level award for better than average incident rates. The Air Guard received the highest level award for exceptional accomplishment in reducing injuries and illness in the workplace.
