Eric Robert Eats Last Meal On Saturday

Bookmark and Share

A South Dakota inmate has eaten his last meal.

Lawyer Mark Kadi says that 50-year-old Eric Robert requested ice cream for his last meal before he dies. Robert is fasting for the 40 hours prior to the execution for religious purposes, so his last meal was on Saturday.

Robert is set to die at 10 p.m. on Monday for the killing of prison guard Ronald "RJ" Johnson during a failed escape attempt in April 2011.

Kadi says he was touched when Robert asked him to share his last meal with him. Robert had moose track flavored ice cream while Kadi had turtle track.
