Two Watertown men have been sentenced to federal prison for violating firearms laws.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 28-year-old Thomas Charles Drippon pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a user of controlled substances in July. He has been sentenced to about a year in prison.
Twenty-two-year-old Nelson Flute pleaded guilty to possession of firearm with an obliterated serial number. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
Johnson says that when law officers executed a search warrant at the two men's apartment in July last year, they found a .22-caliber rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun with an obliterated serial number and a barrel length slightly under 16 inches.
