Senator Tim Johnson and law enforcement officials were finding ways to better spend federal dollars on domestic violence issues Tuesday.
Officials from Sioux Falls Police, Children's Inn, and The Compass Center were discussing how the Violence Against Women Act has been working for each organization.
The executive director of The Help Line Center feels having originations work together against domestic violence is crucial.
“It’s very important. As providers, it's important for us to coordinate and work with one another to make sure those victims don't fall through the cracks,” said Janet Kittams-Lalley
The Help Line Center received 400 calls this past year. And, says if anyone feels they are in a threatening domestic situation to call them at 2-1-1.
