A federal judge has denied a stay of execution filed on behalf of death row inmate Donald Moeller.
Friday, a distant relative of Moeller filed a motion challenging the method of lethal injection. Judge Lawrence Piersol said he found the motion to stay Moeller's execution to be without merit.
Piersol also ruled that the appointment of the Arkansas Federal Public Defender be terminated as counsel for Moeller.
Moeller is scheduled to be executed during the week of Oct. 28.
