KDLT will broadcast both planned services for the late U.S. Sen. George McGovern.
Hundreds are expected to gather Thursday for a public viewing and prayer service at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. Among the confirmed guests is Vice President Joe Biden, who served alongside McGovern in the Senate in the 1970s and early '80s. KDLT will show the entire prayer service live starting at 6:30 p.m.
McGovern's funeral will be held Friday afternoon at the Mary Sommervold Hall of the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science in Sioux Falls. KDLT will broadcast the service in its entirety starting at 1 p.m.
Most cable subscribers may view KDLT on channel 5. Satellite subscribers will find the station on channel 46. Those who use an over-the-air antenna can find KDLT on either channel 5.1 or 46.1
McGovern, a legend in South Dakota's political history, died Sunday at the age of 90. He's a former Democratic U.S. senator and three-time presidential candidate.
