Roads Will Be Blocked Off For McGovern Services

Hundreds of people are expected to pay their respects to former Senator George McGovern during a public viewing at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.
The viewing is from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. A prayer service starts at 6:30 p.m.
The Sioux Falls Police Department plans to block off roads surrounding the church. West 12th Street from Summit Avenue to Minnesota Avenue will be blocked of from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday.
McGovern's funeral will take place at the Washington Pavilion at 1 p.m. Friday. Police will block off 13th Street from Dakota Avenue to Main Avenue from 11 a.m. until 4 pm. Friday. Dakota Avenue from 11th - 13th Street will also be blocked off.
