Hundreds, if not thousands of people are expected to descend on Sioux Falls over the next couple of days for George McGovern's funeral services and local businesses are preparing for the crowd.
Becky Powell, a server at Crawford's Restaurant, said they are adding on more manpower to ensure they can service everyone.
"We brought on a couple of extra servers during the day shift as well as a couple extra servers for the evening," said Powell.
Crawford's isn't the only restaurant making preparations. The staff at Phillips Avenue Diner says they too are getting ready.
General Manager, Mark Gillespie, said they have hired on more servers and cooks for the lunch and dinner shifts and expect to see a lot of visitors head to the well-known diner.
“People may not necessarily have a place to go especially if they are from out of town and just naturally being a diner it's just a good spot to visit and maybe have some coffee before and after the services," said Gillespie.
Whether it's hundreds or thousands of visitors that will arrive in Sioux Falls, restaurants are ready for the crowd.
