Patriot Guard Honors McGovern

With visitation hours starting early Thursday afternoon for the prayer service, a group who honors soldiers showed their respects for former senator George McGovern.
 
The Patriot Guard lined up the sidewalk leading to the First Methodist Church at around 12:30. The dozen or so Patriot Guard members stood holding American flags until the prayer service began.
 
Dale Thomsen the senior ride captain feels it’s important to show respect for all who served in the military.

The Patriot Guard will also stand outside the Washington Pavilion Friday for the senator’s funeral.
