Battle Continues Over GOP Political Ad In SD

The battle over a political television ad continues in South Dakota.
P.U.C. candidate Matt McGovern is blasting an ad by the Republican Party. McGovern says the original ad called “who is Matt McGovern?” has several false statements. It said McGovern was born in Wisconsin, but he was actually born in Washington D.C.
That spot was pulled, and a revised version is now running. However McGovern takes issue with other statements in the ad.
It says he changed his name from Matt Rowen to Matt McGovern to run for the P.U.C. A statement from his campaign says his parents changed his name to Matt McGovern-Rowen when he was two years old. His mother is George McGovern’s daughter.
The South Dakota Republican Party stands by its’ ad.
