Republican Rep. Kristi Noem and Democratic challenger Matt Varilek say they plan to vote early Tuesday before making last-minute campaign pushes in their hard-fought race for South Dakota's lone U.S. House seat.
Noem plans a swing through some towns close to her family's ranch near Hayti, while Varilek joins campaign workers in making get-out-the-vote calls.
Varilek says he plans to stay positive after pulling his ads attacking Noem off television Saturday. Varilek says he thinks voters are fed up after months of negative campaigning.
Still, his election night plans include a poke at Noem, who ran an ad criticizing him for hosting corn dog parties while working as a congressional staffer in Washington.
Varilek says corn dogs will be served when his supporters gather in Sioux Falls to await returns.
