SD Voters Enjoy Mild Weather On Election Day

Bookmark and Share

Voters heading to the polls in South Dakota aren't being bothered by bad weather.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for high temperatures Tuesday from the 40s in the northeast to near 60 in the southwest, with no rain or snow.

Polling sites began opening at 7 a.m. Voters are deciding a U.S. House race between Republican Kristi Noem and Democrat Matt Varilek, and choosing state lawmakers and two members of the Public Utilities Commission. They also are deciding several ballot issues, and casting votes for president.

Sixty-three-year-old Sioux Falls dentist Brian Sather says he voted for Mitt Romney because he thinks the country needs change. Sather was among about 20 voters who lined up outside a polling site at a VFW in South Dakota's largest city early Tuesday.
