The biggest shopping event of the year is just over two weeks away, first comes Thanksgiving, and then comes Black Friday.
Each year it seems like stores open up earlier and both stores and shoppers are already getting ready for the big shopping day.
According to Walmart, their Black Friday will start at eight p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, which is earlier than ever before.
While there's a thrill behind getting a good deal over the holidays, some shoppers said Black Friday is much more than the bargains.
"The laughing, we laugh a lot," said Hoekstra.
Cheryl Hoekstra from Ocheyedan, Iowa has a handful of sisters spread out across the state, who meet together on Black Friday every year.
"Sometimes it's more about the spending time together than it is actually the shopping, although we do look for some good bargains for Christmas too," said Hoekstra.
Hoekstra recalled last year’s purchase, which she still gets excited about.
"The TVs were the good deal," said Hoekstra.
She said she’d be looking for more TVs this year, to fulfill her son's Christmas wish.
Valeri Wilkening, from Fulda, Minnesota said she and her daughter Kassie bond over shopping and while they try to be productive and check off items on their Christmas lists, they get lost in the moment.
"Sometimes it's not always Christmas shopping, it's us shopping," said Wilkening.
Not only does this mother-daughter duo look for a good bargain, they also keep their eyes open for something else too.
"People are just unbelievable, it is kind of fun just to sit and people watch too," said Wilkening.
Wilkening said sometimes the site, isn’t pretty.
"Ive seen people litterally grab things out of people's hands," said Wilkening.
For Hoekstra, she said her shopping experience was pretty tame last year and while she counts down the days until Black Friday, she and her sisters will be scouting for shopping steals.
"Try to check out the ads online and fill each other in on what's the good deals and where we might want to go," said Hoekstra.
