Crazy Horse To Shine Blue For Diabetes Prevention

Bookmark and Share

Visitors to Crazy Horse Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota will see an unusual sight Tuesday: the large mountain carving will be bathed in blue light.

The idea is to bring awareness to diabetes prevention efforts. The Crazy Horse Memorial is joining 400 other landmarks all over the world in a special night lighting ceremony to promote World Diabetes Day, which is Tuesday. Blue signifies the sky shared by all people and the unified response to the diabetes
threat.

The large carving will be illuminated from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time. A similar lighting event is planned in Sioux Falls at Falls Park from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. local time.

Prevention information will also be available at locations throughout the state on Tuesday.
