In honor of raising awareness for “World Diabetes Day,” which is on Wednesday, the Falls Park in Sioux Falls was blue Tuesday night.
One visitor, Kari Jurrens, came with her family from Rock Rapids to check out the falls/.
To their surprise, the falls were blue, to draw awareness to diabetes prevention efforts, which affects nearly 26 Million people in the United States.
"It's nice that Sioux Falls will take the time to do something like that. It makes people more aware of what's going on and that there needs to be a cure and diagnosis and everything that needs to be figured out for it," said Jurrens.
The Crazy Horse memorial in the Black Hills was also bathed in blue and the falls will be blue until 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
