The Sanford Center opened its doors to high school students from South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa on Thursday for the Sanford Promise Science Discovery Day..
Students had the opportunity to hear from professionals from Sanford Research and Sanford Health and other biomedical businesses in the area.
The speakers shared information about their careers and their love of science with hands-on presentations.
“I'm hoping they not only learn all the options that are out there in the sciences, but that they get a little joy associated with each of these careers,” said Liz McMillan, Curriculum Education Coordinator with Sanford Promise.
The Discovery Day was put on by the Sanford Promise Program, which promotes the benefits of science and research.
