Archrivals South Dakota and South Dakota State renew their rivalry on Saturday, ending a hiatus that began in 2003.
The schools started playing each other 123 years ago, before South Dakota was a state. But the showdown was put on hold when South Dakota State moved up to Division I. South Dakota has since followed suit and they now face each other in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
The Jackrabbits (7-3, 5-2 MVFC) are coming off a 20-17 loss to top-ranked North Dakota State, but are still in the Championship Subdivision playoff hunt.
The Coyotes (1-9, 0-7) are on an eight-game losing streak. Saturday's game offers a chance to play spoiler and go into the offseason on a positive note.
