Top-ranked North Dakota State has drawn the top seed for the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
That means the defending national champion Bison will not have to leave Fargo, unless they earn a return trip to the national championship game on Jan. 5, in Frisco, Texas. It also gives NDSU a bye week for the first round of the playoffs.
NDSU's second-round opponent at the Fargodome on Dec. 1 will be the winner of the first-round game this Saturday between South Dakota State and Eastern Illinois. That game is at SDSU.
