350,000 signatures from an online petition drive asking Target to reverse its’ decision to open on Thanksgiving night were delivered to the store’s headquarters in Minneapolis Monday.
A Target employee was joined by local consumers and faith leaders to hand-deliver the signatures. They are questioning whether customers really want to shop on Thanksgiving and whether Target actually gave employees a choice about working.
More than 130 petitions have recently been launched on change.org asking major retailers including Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, and Kohls to “save Thanksgiving” and open their doors on Friday instead of Thanksgiving Day.
