One person died and another suffered life-threatening injuries from a vehicle rollover on Interstate 90 Tuesday morning.
Highway patrol officials say the accident just before 10 a.m. at mile marker 379, about 1/2 mile west of Humboldt, involved one vehicle. The driver of a 1999 Ford Ranger traveling eastbound lost control and the vehicle rolled several times before landing in the westbound lanes on I-90.
Officials say both people inside were ejected from the vehicle. The passenger sustained fatal injuries.
Troopers say both speed and slippery road conditions contributed to the crash. Alcohol was not a factor.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
Names of both the passenger and drive are being withheld until family members have been notified.
