Area high school and middle school students got a real-life taste of the consequences of drinking and driving Tuesday.
153 students gathered to kick off 4D month.
December is nationally known as 3D month, which stands for drunk and drugged driving awareness. But in Sioux Falls it’s called 4D month to bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving as well.
Area students witnessed a docu-drama with emergency room staff, and then broke into smaller groups.
Students say they want to spread the message back at school.
62 teens have been killed in alcohol related crashes statewide from 2006 to 2012.
