Hope is the theme of the Sioux Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross this month.
"You can give hope by giving money to the Red Cross and that money is going toward hope for somebody somewhere else in the country that needs help," said JT Nelson, Red Cross Board Member.
Hope for those who may have been affected by a disaster, such as Hurricane Sandy.
It's these disasters that have inspired "The Red Cross Wrapping Station" in the lobby of the CNA Surety Building.
"If people start bringing us their Christmas Gifts and shopping done, they can bring this stuff over and we can get it wrapped," said Nelson.
JT Nelson has been active with the American Red Cross for six years. He says being a part of "The Red Cross Wrapping Station” is a great opportunity to do something for others. Each gift is splashed with white and red colors including a bow with a "Hope" sticker, in hopes of getting a small donation in return, which will help make a big difference.
"Bring us down some presents, we are ready to wrap," said volunteer Jessica Jensen.
But that's not the only way you can help. You can also volunteer at the event. As a volunteer herself, Jessica Jensen knows how easy it is.
"You can sign up for as much time or as little time. I think the smallest time block of time is an hour and it is so easy to give one hour," said Jensen.
Just one hour to make the holiday special for someone else.
