Weekend Crash Kills Waubay Man

A Waubay man died in a crash in Day County early Sunday morning.

Officials say 28-year-old Brian Butler's 2005 Chevrolet Impala left 446th Avenue on a curve, drove into a ditch, and rolled several times. Butler was thrown from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at 5 a.m. two miles south of Waubay.

Troopers say Butler was not wearing a seat belt.

Officials with the South Dakota Highway Patrol say the investigation continues.
