Skirving has high goals!

Hockey is a rough sport. The main objective is just getting the puck past the goalie and the Stampede's Todd Skirving has been doing just that.

"He's a pure goal scorer. He's a sniper and it's great having him on our team," says Stampede goalie, Charlie Lindgren.

"Yeah he's a big part of the team. He seems to be contributing goals almost every night. That's what we need. We need a couple guys like that, that you can rely on to show up every night and play the game and also bring up other players on the ice so that it's just not our first top two lines going," said team mate Zeb Knutson.

Skriving has the hot hand for the Herd as of late, showing up at the right place at the right time out on the ice.

Skirving: "Honestly I think it's just because of the fact our team's having success and I think that's when individual success and players start to thrive."

After a slow start to the season, Skrving seems to be the go to guy as of late when the team needs it the most.

"Todd's obvisously playing a lot better without the puck. He's checking well. He's moving his feet. He's getting the puck and getting back on offense and able to use his lethal shot after getting the puck back earlier," said Coach Cary Eades.

"I have to give credit to my line mates Dennis Kravchenk and Ryan Siiro, they've been moving the puck, they've been crashin' and bangin' for me and I think our line just clicked. We had a little bit of a slow start, but I think now we finally started to find our rythem and I think that's been successful for our line," said Skirving.

Skriving has talents off the ice as well.

"Off the ice he is a character.  Character and a half, Talking all the time. Loves to dance! Loves to dance!"

But with two hat tricks under his belt this season, his full strength on the ice is putting the puck between the pipes.

"He started off kind of slow, but he's scoring goals in the bunches right now and it's helping our team big time," said Lindgren.

Hoping the sniper's slapshot helps lead them to a championship.
