A new study confirms that those lamps used to dry your nails after a manicure do not cause skin cancer.
There has been concern that artificial UV lamps used at nail salons were linked to a risk of keratinocyte carcinoma, which is the most common cancer in the US.
Researchers measured the wavelengths, wattage, and irradiance of three different lamp models.
They determined it would take 250 years of weekly UV lamp sessions to significantly raise the risk of cancer.
