Fatal Accident Near Baltic

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Department says one man is dead in a two vehicle crash near Baltic.
Authorities say the crash happened at the intersection of 254th St. and 475th Ave around 5:20 p.m.
They say the driver of a passenger vehicle, who was in his 40s, was traveling westbound on 254th street, stopped at the stop sign, then tried to proceed across the intersection, when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.
The man driving the passenger vehicle has been pronounced dead. The two people in the truck have been taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
South Dakota Highway Patrol, Dell Rapids Ambulence, Baltic Fire & Rescue and Minnehaha County Emergency Management responded to the accident.
Drivers in the area have been asked to take an alternate route.
