Photos Released Of Casey's Robbery Suspect

Bookmark and Share

Police have released photos of the man they believe is responsible for robbing a Sioux Falls convenience store at knifepoint early Thursday morning.

Officials say the man walked into the Casey's General Store at 701 S. Sycamore Ave. shortly after 5 a.m., waved a large butcher knife at the clerk ,and left the store with the entire cash drawer.

Police describe the suspect as black man standing 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, dark shoes, and a red hat. He covered his face with a red bandana and carried a black back pack with a white Nike logo on it.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

The same convenience store was robbed last month by a suspect carrying a large butcher knife. The suspect in that robbery also took the entire cash drawer.

Police say the two crimes are similar, but it's too soon to say if they were carried out by the same suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crimestoppers.
