Black Sheep Coffee had a special guest Saturday. A Sioux Falls woman held a book signing for her first, what she hopes to be many children’s books.
In November, Jodie Davis published her first book entitled, ‘Elva Jean Prays For Her Green Beans.’
The book is based off of her son being terrified of eating his green beans. Davis said he then prayed they would begin to taste like candy.
The character Elva Jean, is named after her grandmother and based on her daughter Emmie.
"The lesson here is kids, are going to be kids, and to just appreciate them for who they are. And introducing them to Jesus is my goal,” said Jodie Davis, author, Elva Jean Series.
Davis plans on having seven books in the series. The second book, which she hopes to have out in eight months, will be a lesson on obeying.
