Raeanne Klein-DWU Archer:"The smaller you aim the smaller your miss will be."
Raeanne Klein, a senior at Dakota Weslyan, takes her time as she pulls back on her bow.. and steadys the arrow..
Klein says:"It's just you shoot and concentrate on that little X or the middle of the X."
As she hits bullseye after bullseye on her practice targets.. she tries to mentally prepare herself for future tournaments.
Klein says: "Archery is mental which makes going to tournaments a lot of work."
And that work.. has been paying off.. in October Klein finished first in a national collegiate meet in Missouri...and in January Klein will take aim at the Iowa invitational...
Klein says:"One of the bigger shoots, indoor shoots in the US."
With plenty of success in her sport.. you may find it hard to believe Klein's only been shooting for 3 years.
"I started my freshman year of college and I'm now a senior," says Raeanne.
And with graduation day fast approaching for Klein.. she wouldnt be opposed to taking the next step and going pro..
Klein says:"Eventually, I would hope so but right now we'll just keep working on it.. for now."
Like any sport.. improvement comes from hours of practice.. but despite getting late start to the archery game.. Raeanne Klein keeps her bow steady.. and her eyes on the prize..
