	Great Bear Rec Park To Open Friday by KDLT News December 13, 2012 12:26 PM Sioux Falls' only area to ski and snowboard will open for the season Friday afternoon. Great Bear Recreation Park managers announced Thursday that limited runs for skiing and snowboarding will open at 3 p.m. Friday. Managers had hoped to open Dec. 1, but warmer temperatures put that on hold. The park opened Dec. 10 in 2011. For information about current conditions, visit the park's website or call 605-367-4309. Great Bear is in the northeast side of Sioux Falls, on Rice Street two miles east of Interstate 229.
