A man who led Sioux Falls police on a high-speed, three-county chase managed to get away.
Officers with the Division of Criminal Investigation tried to pull a man over about 8 p.m. Sunday near 49th and Western. Instead of stopping, he floored it.
Authorities say the man made several traffic violations. His erratic behavior put other drivers at risk, so Sioux Falls police called off the chase. Deputies in Lincoln County near Tea picked it back up, and the man sped west into Turner County.
Deputies say they lost sight of him in Marion. The Marion Sheriff's office says they have called off the search for now.
Authorities wouldn't explain why they were looking for the suspect in the first place.
