Bookmark and Share

A fertilizer company based in South Dakota has been sold to Koch Fertilizer, a company that has plants in the United States, Canada, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Koch FPF Holdings, a subsidiary of Koch Fertilizer, announced that it has acquired Farmer Plant Food Inc., a company based in Garretson that manufactures and distributes fertilizer products and services.

Farmers Plant Food also has facilities in Wolsey and Corson and in Verdi, Minn.

Kevin Baum, president of Farmers Plant Food, will remain with the business on a consulting basis to help with the transition to Koch Fertilizer.

Baum founded Farmers Plant Food in 1980 as a regional fertilizer distributor of urea ammonium nitrate and a manufacturer of ammonium polyphosphate. It has expanded into other fertilizer produces in recent years.
