DWI Arrests Up For New Years In Sioux Falls

New Year’s drunken driving arrests were at a 5-year high in Sioux Falls.

15 people were arrested for driving while intoxicated. Last year only eight people were arrested.

The New Year’s Eve saturation patrol brought up some other interesting numbers. Five people were cited for narcotics violations, and 25 people were ticketed for speeding.

In all there were 171 violations from 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve to 4 a.m. New Year’s day.
