Herd acquire new defenseman from Sweden

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today they have acquired defenseman Victor Bjorkung off waivers from the Fargo Force.

 

Bjorkung is a native of Stockholm, Sweden and is already committed to the University of Maine.  The 6-foot, 165-pound defenseman registered six points (1g, 5a) and 20 penalty minutes in 26 games with the Force this season.

 

Prior to joining the Force, Bjorkung played in the Swedish SuperElite League where he recorded four goals and 13 assists in 42 games. 

 

Bjorkung is in Sioux Falls and will practice with the team today. He will wear #26 and is eligible to play this weekend when the Stampede take on the Sioux City Musketeers, Friday and Saturday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. Game times are 7:05 PM each night.
