Mickelson Trail Hosts Black Hills Snowshoe Hikes

Bookmark and Share

The George S. Mickelson Trail in the Black Hills will host three snowshoe hikes this winter.

ikes will be held at 1 p.m. MST on Saturday and Jan. 19, with both starting at the Englewood trailhead. The final hike will be held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 2, with the location to be determined later.

Staff at the Black Hills Trails Office will teach basic snowshoeing skills while leading a nature walk along the trail.

Mickelson Trail manager Dana Garry says the office has a limited number of snowshoes available for those taking part in the hikes, so people should sign up early to make sure they get a pair of snowshoes.

Garry says snowshoes are available for checkout any time, not just during guided hikes.
